I added this picture, and the reason was, if you look closely these youngster's are preparing for a long journey. The word of God tells us the way is narrow. But to walk in the way God has given us His word and the Holy Spirit to Guide us. Psalm 119:133 tells me that That I need to establish my footsteps in your word" You know who said that David. David knew that first His heart had to be checked, as in why am I doing this and where am I going and who am I doing this for. David knew that before he stepped forward He needed to make sure He was doing this for the right reason.
Now Psalm 119:105 tells me that :Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." How many times have you walked in the dark wishing you had a light to make the way brighter. I remember being at a camp and some boys tried to get to the girls cabins. They ran as the counselors chased them into the woods. The counselors had night vision, the boys not so much as they ran, you could hear them running into trees they could not see. No preparation. Before I set out the first thing I do, is pray that my steps are guided by Gods will found in His word. That way I know that each steps falls within the Holiness of God. Remember this is Holy ground the place that God leads us so we want it blessed. Theres a word I love and it is the word wisdom. Wisdom gives us for sight into Gods word. What I mean is we can better understand why he has called us to go. Psalm 119:130 Tells me that "the unfolding of Gods word gives me light and understanding", In other words if I don't unpack the word of God and allow it's light to shine within my soul, which gives me a simplistic understanding Then when I go I grow weary and fail. These young adults walk from maine to St Anselms collage evry year to raise money for various food pantry's. It is a privilege to sponsor them for a meal on the second day of walking. But whats really the best part of this is watching them prepare, and even though they hurt they continue to walk for the cause of Christ.
